Very trusting in how you set up your teaching philosophy.
Instructor-Automotive Technology (Current Employee) –  New Castle, PAApril 17, 2018
At first was fun and exciting but then the place seemed to take on a persona of control and not taking advice of those who are very good at their departments and we get micromanaged with decisions that do not help the students in the long end. Being with the hungry students is always a challenge but in the end rewarding seeing them grow and carry their weight.
Pros
Nice to work with younger techs who desire to learn
Cons
Keep hiring rough department chairs, and to many chiefs.

Enjoyed helping people pursue higher education and greater job opportunities!
Admissions Representative (Former Employee) –  New Castle, PAMay 12, 2014
Contacted and scheduled appointments with individuals that were interested in attending classes at NCST. I gave tours of programs and the facility in general. I helped prospective students enroll in program of choice and guided them through entire enrollment process.
Management preached positivity yet was very negative and critical.
The hardest part of the day was overcoming prospects personal issues that may keep a person from being eligible for enrollment, credit, convictions, DUI’s, etc.
The greatest reward of the job was seeing a student complete his course and become employed, essentially changing the direction of his or her life!!
Pros
Feel good career!
Cons
Negative atmosphere at times

Welding Instructor (Former Employee) –  New Castle, PAApril 17, 2014
i worked there as an instructor, but was lied to by the welding department head and never saw it coming!!! you should be 60 to 70 years old or they will not like you and please dont know how to weld or they will feel threatened!!!! If they would get rid of the old people who didnt know how to weld it would be a great place to work. But is is enjoyable to see the reaction to those you help learn, just keep an eye on your back because you will take a knife to it!!!!!!
Pros
helping others, nice people in adminasration
Cons
department heads a liar, will fire you and back him even if hes wrong, day shift doesnt learn to weld

In 2011, NCST acquired a second location at 4117 Pulaski Road New Castle, Pennsylvania .
